This Week on The Mountain - April 16 - 19

Hey neighbor! Happy you’re here-

Spring is doing its usual thing on the mountain — a mix of sunshine, cooler temps, and the occasional weather swing. After last weekend’s rain, things are starting to dry out a bit, but it still feels like that in-between season.

More events are popping up each week, and the Mountain Events Calendar is starting to fill in nicely — if you haven’t subscribed yet, it’s the easiest way to stay in the loop.

🍺 Business Spotlight

Lake Arrowhead Brewing Company

When people think “brewery,” they don’t always think family-friendly — but LABC is a bit different.

Tucked just off the Village, Lake Arrowhead Brewing Company has built a reputation as a place that’s just as welcoming for families as it is for grabbing a beer with friends. The space is open and relaxed, with both indoor seating and a large outdoor patio surrounded by trees — making it an easy place to hang out for a while.

What stands out:
• Plenty of room for groups and families
• Games and open space that keep kids entertained
• Dog-friendly and very laid-back atmosphere
• Mix of craft beers + non-alcoholic options

It’s designed to be more of a community hangout than just a brewery — the kind of place where you’ll see families, locals, and visitors all mixing together.

You can grab a flight, order food from nearby vendors, and settle in for an afternoon without feeling rushed. It’s especially good during the day when the vibe leans more casual and family-oriented.

SR-18 Construction Project Begins — Expect Delays

A new Caltrans construction project on State Route 18 is set to begin Monday, April 13, impacting the main route up to Big Bear.

What to expect:
• Lane closures Monday–Thursday from 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Friday closures from 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM (as needed)
