This Week on The Mountain
Hey neighbor! Here’s a rundown for this weeks issue
Last weekend brought a mix bag of weather but a solid lineup of events across the mountain — and this week keeps that momentum going.
We’re settling into a stretch where there’s consistently something happening, whether it’s live music, markets, or local events. Warmer temps are sticking around, and it’s shaping up to be another good weekend to get out and celebrate the mom’s in your life.
Also — quick reminder to subscribe to the Mountain Events Calendar if you haven’t yet. It’s the easiest way to keep track of everything without having to search for it.
Let’s get into it.

Mountain Courier Service
If you live on the mountain, you already know — a “quick stop” at the post office rarely feels quick.
Lines, limited hours, and making special trips… it adds up fast.
That’s exactly why Mountain Courier Service exists.
Locally owned and operated for over 5 years, they’ve built a simple service around a problem almost everyone up here deals with:
👉 Mail & package pickup from your P.O. Box
👉 Delivery straight to your home or business
👉 Banking runs for local businesses
No more waiting in line. No more “I’ll grab it later” trips that never happen.
They’re currently taking on new clients, so it’s a great time to get set up.

📰 Mountain News
Open Burning Suspended Across Mountain Areas
The San Bernardino County Fire Protection District has officially suspended all open burning and burn permits across mountain communities due to increasing fire risk.
The suspension went into effect May 1, 2026, and is driven by:
• Early fire activity
• High winds
• Warmer temperatures
• Low fuel moisture
This means no open burning is allowed, including residential burn piles and other permitted burns, until conditions improve.
The order applies to most mountain areas (with some exceptions like Running Springs Fire District and Big Bear), and will remain in place until further notice.
Officials are urging residents to stay cautious, as violations can result in fines or legal action.
👉 For now, it’s a good reminder that fire season is approaching earlier than usual this year.
