This Week on The Mountain

Hey neighbor! Here’s a rundown for this weeks issue

Last week felt like a bit of everything — cooler morning temps, some rainy weather, and that reminder we’re not fully out of spring swings yet.

This week trends better overall. Warmer temps are building into the weekend, with just a slight chance of weather popping up late in the week.

The Mountain Events Calendar continues to grow. If you haven’t subscribed yet, it’s the easiest way to actually keep track of what’s going on without digging around.

Let’s get into it.

🌤 Weather

A pretty solid stretch overall — warm and sunny heading into the weekend, with just a slight chance of a passing shower Thursday.

Thursday (Apr 30)
High: 64° | Low: 44°
Partly sunny with a brief chance of an afternoon shower.

Friday (May 01)
High: 68° | Low: 49°
Sunny and warm — one of the best days of the week.

Saturday (May 02)
High: 68° | Low: 48°
More sunshine and mild temps — ideal mountain weather.

Sunday (May 03)
High: 58° | Low: 42°
Cooler with a mix of sun and clouds.

Mountain take:
This is a Friday/Saturday kind of weekend — best window to get outside before temps dip a bit on Sunday.

🧇 Business Spotlight

Belgian Waffle Works — Lake Arrowhead

Right in the Village, Belgian Waffle Works is one of those places almost everyone on the mountain knows — but it’s still worth highlighting.

Known for its oversized waffles, lake views, and classic breakfast menu, it’s a go-to for both locals and visitors. It’s especially good for:
• Weekend mornings
• Taking out-of-town guests
• Sitting by the water when the weather’s nice

Simple, consistent, and one of the more iconic spots on the mountain.

🎆 Mountain News

Crestline Jamboree Days Gets Regional Spotlight

Crestline’s Jamboree Days just picked up some wider recognition — it’s been featured by AAA Southern California as part of their 2026 “Fun Things To Do” list.

That puts one of the mountain’s biggest annual events on the radar for a much broader Southern California audience, highlighting it as a destination-worthy celebration.

Jamboree Days, held each summer around the 4th of July, is known for:
• The community parade
• Fireworks over Lake Gregory
• Live music and local festivities

Being included on AAA’s list is a strong signal that the event continues to grow beyond just a local tradition — and could mean more visitors heading up the mountain this summer.

For locals, it’s another reminder that one of the mountain’s signature events is getting well-deserved attention.

Reminder to local vendors and volunteers - registration has now opened!

🤝 Local Business Spotlight Opportunities

I’ve had a few local businesses reach out about getting featured in The Mountain Weekly, so I’m opening up a small number of sponsor spots starting next month.

The goal is to keep this relevant and useful — highlighting businesses the community would actually want to know about.

If you run a local business and want to:
• Get in front of a growing local audience
• Be featured in the newsletter
• Be included in the Mountain Events ecosystem

Respond to this email and I’ll share more details.

Keeping this limited for now.

That’s it for this week.

That wraps up this week’s Mountain Weekly!

If you enjoyed this, consider forwarding it to a neighbor or friend who lives (or plays) on the mountain.

And remember — this newsletter is for the community.
Reply anytime with tips, photos, events, or updates you think others would appreciate.
