This Week on The Mountain

Hey neighbor!

June has officially arrived, and the mountain is hitting that sweet spot between spring and summer.

The days are getting longer, the evenings are staying comfortable, and every weekend seems to bring a few more reasons to get outside. Whether you’re spending time at the lake, checking out a local event, or simply looking for an excuse to explore a different mountain community, there’s plenty happening this week.

We’ve also got both a Featured Partner and our first Featured Event spotlight this week, so be sure to check those out.

Let’s get into it.

Featured Partner - Mountain Courier Service

If you’ve lived on the mountain long enough, you already know the routine:

A package shows “delivered”… but now you still have to drive to the post office, wait in line, and hope parking isn’t a mess.

Mountain Courier Service was built specifically to solve that problem for mountain residents and businesses.

Locally owned and operated, they pick up your mail and packages directly from your P.O. Box and deliver them straight to your home or business — saving trips, time, and frustration.

They also help local businesses with:

• Banking runs

• Business mail pickup

• Package delivery

• Ongoing courier services

It’s one of those services that makes mountain living noticeably easier once you start using it.

🎨 Featured Event - Plein Air 2026 Art Show & Celebration

One of the more unique summer events on the mountain is returning to Lake Arrowhead.

Plein Air 2026 brings together original artwork created during the Lake Arrowhead Plein Air Artist Retreat for a special community art show and celebration featuring:

• Original artwork for sale
• Live music
• Food & drinks
• Mountain community atmosphere
• A chance to meet participating artists

The event showcases mountain-inspired paintings and artwork created throughout the retreat, giving visitors an opportunity to experience and purchase one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by the beauty of Lake Arrowhead and the surrounding communities.

Even better, proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Rim of the World Unified School District art program, helping support arts education for local students.

Whether you’re an art collector, casual admirer, or simply looking for a unique way to spend a mountain afternoon, this is one worth checking out.

📰 Mountain News

Fire Agencies Preparing for Early Summer Fire Season

Mountain fire agencies across the San Bernardino Mountains are continuing preparations for what could be an active fire season.

Recent weather patterns have produced a mix of late moisture and warming temperatures, leading agencies to focus on vegetation management, defensible space education, and wildfire readiness throughout mountain communities.

Officials continue encouraging residents to:

• Clear vegetation around homes
• Maintain defensible space
• Review evacuation plans
• Sign up for local emergency notifications

While conditions remain relatively mild for now, fire officials say early preparation remains one of the best ways for residents to protect their homes and communities.

Mountain Pick This Week

One thing I’ve been using lately—especially with hikes, yard work, workouts, and long summer days—is LMNT electrolytes.

No sugar, easy to throw into a water bottle, and a simple way to stay hydrated when you’re spending more time outdoors.

Just figured I’d share since a lot of us are spending more time outside this time of year.

That’s it for this week.

That wraps up this week’s Mountain Weekly!

If you enjoyed this, consider forwarding it to a neighbor or friend who lives (or plays) on the mountain.

And remember — this newsletter is for the community.
Reply anytime with tips, photos, events, or updates you think others would appreciate.

See you up the hill,
