This Week on The Mountain

Hello and welcome to the very first issue of The Mountain Weekly!

Each week, you’ll get a simple, useful rundown of what’s happening across Running Springs, Arrowbear, Green Valley Lake, Lake Arrowhead, Twin Peaks, and Crestline — all in one place.

Let’s jump in.

🌦️ Mountain Weather Snapshot

This week is shaping up to be classic mountain winter weather with cool days and cold nights.

Expect daytime highs in the 40s to low 50s across most communities, with overnight lows dipping into the 20s and low 30s. Mornings may be icy in shaded areas, especially along SR-18 and smaller neighborhood roads.

Later in the week, there’s a chance of gusty winds moving through the ridge lines, which can bring colder wind chills and possible debris on roadways.

Mountain tip: Even if roads look clear, black ice tends to show up early mornings and after sunset — slow it down and give yourself extra space.

☕ Local Spotlight: The Mountain Coffee Stop

This week’s spotlight goes to a couple of local favorites that feel like a second living room for mountain residents. In Crestline, check out Higher Grounds Coffee— known for its cozy atmosphere and friendly baristas. In Running Springs, LuluBelle's Coffee House and Bakery is a must-visit, offering great lattes and a warm spot to catch up with neighbors after a chilly morning.

Whether you’re grabbing a warm drink before a hike or just enjoying the view, these spots are where community happens.

Local tip: Go early on weekends for a quieter vibe and the freshest pastries.

If you’d like to nominate a business or local favorite for a future spotlight, send it my way!

🏗️ Mountain Updates

Lake Arrowhead Village Construction

Construction continues at Lake Arrowhead Village as crews work on ongoing improvements and updates to the area.

Visitors and locals can expect:

• Temporary walkway adjustments
• Occasional noise during daytime hours
• Some parking and access changes depending on the work zone

While it may be a little inconvenient at times, the goal is to improve the Village experience long term with updated infrastructure and refreshed spaces.

If you’re heading down there this week, give yourself a few extra minutes and keep an eye out for posted detours.

That’s it for this week.

That wraps up this week’s Mountain Weekly!
